Angola Shuns Haemorrhagic Fever; Oregon Welcomes It

Angola has closed its border with the Congo, a.k.a. Democratic Republic of Congo.  Reason: to stop the contagious Ebola virus from spreading.  That's a smart move.

Then, there's Oregon.

Though tough times are forcing many Oregonians to put away their credit cards, Gov. Ted Kulongoski and Democratic leaders plan to go on a borrowing binge once the Legislature convenes next week to jump-start projects that they hope will create thousands of jobs.

Sure.  There's an idea.  Let's borrow more of what we don't have, and then hope.  What the heck, we've elected Presidents on hope.

Haemorrhagic Fever.  Patron Saint of Oregon Democrats.  At least until the bills come due.
