After eight years of unhinged hatred (and counting - George "Chimpy" McBush has left office yet some still rage against Sarah Palin and Rush Limbaugh), some on the Left are calling for a new tone of "civility" - now that Democrats control Congress and the White House. Given all of the tax evaders that Hope'n'Change has tried to install into government office, it's no wonder that they've suddenly decided to make that call.
At a Republican retreat last week, Eric Cantor, a rising star in the House of Representatives, asked the audience: “Why are Democrats in favour of higher taxes?” The audience shouted back: “Because they don’t pay any.” That quip looks like less of a joke as time goes on.
Just 15 days after pledging in his inaugural address to usher in a “new era of responsibility”, Mr Obama has lost three senior nominees to ethical transgressions – Bill Richardson, his first choice for commerce secretary, who is associated with a possible “pay for play” allegation over campaign donations; Nancy Killefer, his White House chief performance officer; who disclosed minor arrears in back taxes; and Tom Daschle, his health secretary and closest guide and mentor in Washington.
Yep. Hope'n'Change. The Clintons ran with that mantra, and people bought it. Obama ran with the mantra, and they bought it again. One definition of insanity involves doing the same thing over and over again, and expecting a different outcome each time.

Oh yes, the Republicans who called Bill Clinton a murderer were paragons of civil discourse, as were the talk show hosts that called those who opposed the Iraq War "America Haters."
The right loves to dish it out, but they don't seem to be able to take it.

I don't recall hearing Republicans call Clinton a murderer. They did mention that he lied, but of course, the judge did find him guilty of perjury. They also mentioned that he bombed an aspirin factory, and a few other little problems that Bill had. But I don't recall ever hearing Republicans refer to him as a murderer. That was something the Left leveled at Bush, time and again.
FWIW, I opposed the Iraq war, although I supported the operations in Afghanistan.

Max,
How about all of the claims about Clinton regarding Vincent Foster?
It's odd that you don't remember it, since you seemed to have referred to it in a recent post.

When the left refers to Bush as a murderer, they are referring to the war he started under false pretenses. Time and time again, he and members of his administration made claims about Iraq that simply weren't true.
Are heads of state responsible for the wars they start? Are they responsible for the killing that results?

FoS:
Did any Republican refer to Bill Clinton as a murderer in the Vince Foster case? I don't recall having seen or heard any such reference by any Republican. Granted, I know a fair amount about biology, and I am quite convinced that Foster's death was no suicide. Even I, however, have never referred to either Clinton as a murderer.
I'm quite well aware of why the Left refers to Bush as a murderer; unlike you, I'm also quite well aware of the fact that he did not "start a war under false pretenses". Time and again, he and members of his administration relayed to Congress the intel that was available, and time and again, Senator John Kerry, Hillary, and others not only voted, but spoke forcefully in favor of strong action.
You may remember John, who famously voted for the war before he voted against it?
Sorry, that tired old Leftist "Bush Lied" crud just doesn't fly. If you really want to blame somebody, look to the Democrats - they were the folks who dismantled much of our intelligence ops by their decision that we didn't need to keep actual people in place. Oh, now - we could gather all the intel we need by remote sensing technology.
Less expensive. Safer. And completely wrong. Freakin' idiots. There is no substitute for human analytical assets in place. None.
And that's what they tried to get away with.
Result: compromised intel. On the one hand, Iraq had 500 tons of yellowcake; on the other, they didn't seem to have yet acquired the tech to process it.
Still, the available intel was enough to convince Bush and Kerry that action should be taken. Is Kerry responsible for the killing that resulted?

I'm sorry, but I can no longer continue a conversation with someone who appears to be either delusional or purposely misinformed.
Have a nice life. Perhaps someday you will come to your senses.

Facts can be annoying little buggers, can't they? It must be difficult to square up the facts that, given access to the data, John Kerry and Hillary Clinton, among others, not only voted to send us into Iraq, but made impassioned speeches regarding the necessity for doing so on the Senate floor. That really interferes with the whole "Bush lied" paradigm that was so comfortable.
Don't let the door hit you on the way out, FoS.
