Mandatory composting is now the law in Frisco, and that means that garbage haulers will be checking to see if you're tossing food scraps into the rubbish. If you do, it's an automatic $100 fine.
Residents will be required to have three color-coded trash bins, including one for recycling, one for trash and a new one for compost — everything from banana peels to coffee grounds.
It's not enough that you pay for garbage removal services; now, if you don't sort your garbage properly, you'll pay as a scofflaw. The day is not far off when they'll require you to separate urine from feces, as toilets will be banned.
