Well, probably not. Certainly, AlGore had better hope not, because if the world ends in 2012, he's got no way of cashing in on his carbon offset credit scam.

If somebody thinks the world is really going to end in 2012, now is a great time to take out a 30-year interest only mortgage. Or do a re-fi and have a great vacation.

Carbon based footprint is only part of the climate change. The pressure of the universe is the real cause. Al Gore can't control a universal crunch, the one that is indenting the very poles of the planet. Something is going to happen, there are far too many people in agreement for once in history.

I'm with you, ZZ. Except I think there will be some really disappointed vactioners come 2013.
2012: Umm...sorry, I've no idea as to what you're trying to say. "Indenting the poles of the planet"? The poles are slightly indented due to speed of Earth rotation, which is also why the planet is bulkier at the equator. If you're talking about polar reversal in terms of magnetic field, we're coming up on the due date for the next flip.
AlGore's "carbon" issue is simply a moneymaker for him, which is why he pushes it so hard - he has at least one company all set up to profit from the "cap and trade" scenario. If he could find a way to profit from a flip in Earth's polarity (while blaming it on human activity), he'd have a company or two waiting in the wings to profit from that.
