A nine-year-old kid, working with her mother in the garden, uncovered a coin. Not just any coin. This one is around 700 years old, as any nine-year-old girl should have known. She kept it as a memento. This was Very Bad.
Now 23, she has become the first person convicted of failing to hand over "treasure" to the British government. Don't the Brits understand the whole "finders keepers" concept? It's nice to see that the Brits have solved all of their other problems, and can now devote their efforts to such noble pursuits.
