How interesting! Lewis and Clark law professor Jim Huffman plans to officially announce his candidacy for Ron Wyden's U.S. Senate seat in just a few days. While the tax law perfesser Bogdanski sits on his butt and blogs, one of his peers at the hallowed institution is lacing up.
And Huffman brings some great baggage to the race (rummaging around) - like credibility. The Ron Wyden/Gordon Smith tag-team was fairly effective, because both are "progressives". The Wyden/Merkeley team hasn't managed much.
Wyden, of course, has a significant advantage due to name recognition. At present, he holds a 14% lead over a candidate who hasn't officially announced his bid. Suddenly, that advantage seems somewhat less significant.
I like Huffman's view: “The Jim Huffman campaign will be about the PEOPLE OF OREGON who are struggling while an out of touch political class uses the economic crisis to grab power and enrich their special interest patrons. The grass roots will be a huge part of this campaign, and so it is vital that we show up in force to support Jim in his kickoff,”.

This guy might be worth voting for. #1: he's not Wyden. #2: He's not Wyden.

Good reasons, both. And those are just for starters.
