Professor Phil Jones has hit the stage again, this time in front of a bunch of angry politicians in the House Of Commons. The "scientist" at the center of the so-called "Climategate" controversy, who was forced to step down from his position as head of the Climate Research Unit in the aftermath of the revelations spoke before the House yesterday. Looking pale and clasping his shaking hands in front of him, he told MPs: "I have obviously written some pretty awful emails."
Really? That's all? Well, who hasn't written an awful email? But it seems to go a bit further than that, as the Institute of Physics submitted with typical understatement that "worrying implications" had been raised after it was revealed the University of East Anglica had manipulated data on global warming. Indeed, they accused Phil and his pals of undermining science's credibility.
In American English, the evidence is damning.
