How much would Obama's drilling moratorium cost over a sixth-month period?
For starters, the guy who blew into office claiming to have a plan to stop our dependence upon foreign oil has just attempted to increase that dependence by nearly one-third.
200,000 jobs are at risk, or already lost. But those are just the little people. The federal government stands to lose half a billion dollars in revenue. Every six months. And the drillers aren't wasting time - unlike the federal government, they see downtime as lost opportunity. They're already moving equipment out of the Gulf, and they won't be hurrying back after Obama's "moratorium" ends. Obama is an idiot; albeit a well-educated idiot. He has a lot of book-learning, and no real-world experience.
That's what makes him the most dangerous President in American history.

"Obama is an idiot; albeit a well-educated idiot. He has a lot of book-learning..."
You're being too generous with the boy. The Harvard "education" Obama received (assuming he even had passable grades) is a far cry from the education John Adams received.

Book-learning isn't a guarantee of either intelligence or common sense. The Encyclopedia Britannica has a lot of facts, but we hardly ever see one nominated for office.
"They're already moving equipment out of the Gulf, and they won't be hurrying back after Obama's "moratorium" ends."
That would be just fine with him. The idea is to stop all drilling, everywhere; the idea is to raise gas prices to $7/G, so that everyone will clamor for more bicycles and more light rail and bullet trains.
The idea is to wreck the country, so they can rebuild it in their wonderful socialist image.
A reasonable person responds to a disaster or crisis with "how do we fix it?"; Obama responds with "Who do we sue?".

The late Brother Dave Gardner said that a liberal is a person educated beyond his ability to understand.
I see evidence to support that thought.

Given his Harvard graduation, one may assume that he has education (although Leftists didn't grant such an accord to Bush). Questionable, however, is his ability to use it effectively. He clearly lacks any real-world understanding, which seems to be symptomatic of Americans his age and younger.
I believe that Churchill put it best when he noted that if you're 30 and not a liberal, you have no heart. If you're 40 and not conservative, you have no brain.

It all depends on how you define "education". Mr. 57 States shows his ignorance every time he opens his trap. I see no evidence that he is even in possession of any book knowledge, at least any knowledge that is remotely factual. The nation's first affirmative-action president might as well have bought his Harvard degree from a diploma mill.

As noted previously, he clearly lacks real-world experience. Most of our recent college graduates bring an inflated sense of self-importance but little else. He's but the first to have been elected to office.
