Portland Saturday Market, long an artisinal fixture downtown, has apparently upscaled to their very own ATM machine. That's probably a good idea, as a lot of the jewelery and plant peddlers don't take plastic. On the downside, somebody installed a skimmer on the thing.
A visitor to Portland's Saturday Market needed cash and went to the ATM machine at the market to withdraw money, but noticed something looked odd about the machine.
Portland Police found that an ATM card skimming device had been attached to the machine.
When users swiped their cards, it collects the card information and the personal identification number so the thieves have full access to the victim's accounts.
Police don't know how long the device was on the ATM machine, so they're warning everyone who use it to monitor their accounts.
