As superstition-packed days go, this was a big one: a Carnival Cruise ship ran aground, killing at least 3 (Carnival owns the Costa line). Another 69 people remain unaccounted for at present, and the captain of the six-year-old vessel has been arrested. Unlike these fine, upstanding citizens, he probably won't be going anyplace anytime soon; as predicted, the perps involved in a pair of assaults on Tri-Met got to walk.
No problem there, though you know darn well that if a white person hollered "Nigger!" and started smacking and spitting on a black, it's be a "hate crime". It was especially endearing that one of the "mothers" held a victim's hair while her sweet young little girl punched the victim in the face.
It's not an issue, though, since the perps are all black and the victims just happened to be honkie crackers.
