Buckland, 14, was with two girl friends and one male friend who sat together in a section across from three other girls.
When one of the girls asked if her male friend was her boyfriend. Karley said “no.” And Karley quotes the African-American girl as saying, “He needs some chocolate in his life.”
Buckland said she laughed about the remark, which seemed to set off the three girls.
“I don’t know if they thought I was making fun of them,” she said.
Before she could figure that out, the girls and a “whole crowd” surrounded her. The three girls hit her with open palms and fists and also spat on her, she said, as the crowd cheered on the attackers.
Hey, no problem. It's not a "hate crime", and Tri-Met's "safe".
Ride Tri-Met. Become a statistic.
By the way - none of the assailants, nor the guy hopping around in glee, are "African-Americans". They're just home-grown thugs.

What happened to the soothing classical music Trimet promised that was going to mitigate all this violence?
Once again, just more unmitigated B.S. from our joke of a transit agency.

You'd have thought that the classical music gambit would work. Unfortunately, its soothiness doesn't extend into the "trains" themselves - they only play it on the platforms. And only if the sound system actually works.
Tri-Met is not a transit agency. They serve developers.
