It seems odd that every "story" that The Zero has published over the past few weeks regarding the Portland-Milwaukie light rail debacle is accompanied by the identical photo, always printed in the upper Left of the "story". The most recent examples, by different reporterettes, are here and here. It seems that they're incapable of publishing anything about the latest Tri-Met slap at voters without including the "iconic" photo relating to construction of the "no cars" bridge.
Do Tri-Met GM Neil McFarlane and The Zero's Pat Stickel (Freddie's son) really respect each other in the morning? Did somebody turn the shower on again?

Max - you ARE aware Pat Stickel retired a couple years ago?

Actually, that was his pappy, Fred. Pat has since retired at the ripe age of 59.

Max - Pat retired two years ago. A couple months after Fred, who ALSO retired two years ago. You sure hate being wrong, don't you?

So, Suddenly Seymore - are you relatives?
Yeah, I know that Pat retired a couple of years after Daddy turned the biz over.
I mean, really - you've yet to comment on the content of the post, which notes that The Zero uses the same damned photo in every "story". You just keep yapping up in defense of the Stickels. Why would you be so defensive? Gee, who knows?
Oh, and next time you see Neil, do let him know that I pee in his vineyard.

Wow. I'm being "defensive"? You suggested the perpetual photo had something to do with Pat Stickel. I simply pointed out "he's retired". Not defending the Stickels, just mentioning that you're wrong pointing this particular finger that way. Fingers can be pointed, but pick the right person to point them at. I point them at The Oregonian myself, but not in a blog, in emails sent directly to the paper.
I read your blog every couple days and agree with most (not all, most) of what you say. I'll keep reading it, and when you make an error, I'll point it out. I'm sure you'd do the same for me if the tables were turned.
Have a good evening, Max.

Seymour:
I had a bad day. Sorry, it happens. I ended up taking some offense because you focused not on the point, but on the Stickels. But hey - nobody's infallible, and I'm not him.
My issue was - and is - why does the Zero keep using the same photo in every article about Portland-Milwaukie loot rail? However, your point about the Stickels is entirely accurate, and was an error on my part, both in the original post and in my reaction. Apologies.

Max - not a problem. If I never had a bad day, I'd point fingers.
Why does the Zero keep using the same photo? My best guess is - laziness. Too busy looking for the next foodie trend to pay attention to the infrastructure.

Appreciate your perspective.
My day started with a first-in-a-decade visit to downtown Portland, and went downhill from there.
Parking lots, it turns out, are largely occupied now by food carts, and lot attendants have been replaced by machines that repeatedly state that they "cannot read" your credit card. This means that they will not spit out the ticket that you're supposed to display.
I'm sure not about to slide my debit card into that machine.
I don't mind the rain, but the other stuff is really irritating. As I was hiking along, though, I noticed three parking spaces on the street taken up by a "free" bike rack.
That's "approved transportation". Two bicycles were locked on there.
As I said, the day didn't get any better.
