Animal "rights" group, PeTA, killed over 95% of the animals in its care in 2011, finding homes for just 24; killing 1,911. The group has an annual operating budget of $37 million. The group's headquarters in Norfolk, Virginia, were inspected by an Agriculture department vet, who noted that PeTA kills 84% of animals within 24 hours of receipt.
You may recall that seven years ago, the organization got into hot water due to the fact that they sent out vans to pick up pets for adoption; the pets were immediately killed in the vans, and their bodies were bagged and discarded into nearby retail dumpsters.
Still, they campaign endlessly against wearing fur or leather, and against eating meat. And the donations from the clueless contine to fill their coffers.

The killing of the animals is in line with PETA's philosophy. You have to remember, these people think of euthanasia as "ethical", whether it's practiced on humans, or animals. A grotesque, but consistent line of thought.

Granted, they are at least consistent. It's just that their definition of "ethical" differs from that of may other people, and it seems reasonable to highlight those differences from time to time.
