26-year-old Brandon Raub is a decorated former Marine who served both in Iraq and Afghanistan, and he foolishly believed that he could post song lyrics and statements critical of the US government to his Facebook page and get away with it. Not in today's America.
He was arrested at his Richmond, Va., home Aug. 16 by federal and local agents and transported to hospitals for psychiatric evaluations; winning his freedom a week later on a judicial order.
Mr. Raub won his freedom on Aug. 23 when Circuit Court Judge Allan Sharrett found his forced detention “so devoid of any factual allegations that it could not be reasonably expected to give rise to a case or controversy.”
Unsurprisingly, he's now suing. Welcome to Barky's America.
