Portland's mayor Sammy has thrice had his legacy dreams denied: his push for a "Sustainability Center" went nowhere, and in the past couple of weeks his push to annex West Hayden Island and to build a Convention Center hotel have been back-burnered. So now he wants to rush through parking meters in Northwest Portland - and forcing residents there to cough up $60 for "permits" to park somewhere close to where they live. Ideally, he can get that pushed through City Council before he has to leave orifice.
Most people can't wait for that day to arrive. Sammy grew to hate parking after he got stopped for driving around the Jantzen Beach parking lots, crashing into other vehicles, with his pants undone and reeking of booze. No problem there, though - despite the embarrassment, Portland's hipsters kept him in orifice.
At some point, it'd be nice to have some adults running things at Portland City Council. Clown shows are only entertaining for so long - and they're really expensive.
