Obamaclaus has apparently reconciled
himself to the fact that His spending cuts are going to happen, so he's put together a list of what will (apart from defense) be cut - and what won't. And unsurprisingly, the one-trick pony is trying to blame Republican obstinance again. And while the diehard foam-and-spittle crowd will buy yet another blame campaign, most Americans aren't as stupid.
The programs identified by Obama include many supported by the GOP — such as funding
for science, food safety, education and small business — but few programs that are only backed by Obama and his progressive coalition.
The exempt programs include green-energy spending, funding for Planned Parenthood, enforcement of environmental regulations, funding for Obamacare and billions in foreign aid.
So Barky plans to continue stuffing billions of dollars down his favored rat-holes at the expense of investment in sound science and other programs that have demonstrated tangible benefit to the nation, while claiming that the beneficial programs suffer due to those dirty, greedy Republicans. It's going to be hard to make that anvil fly:
“Obama owns the sequester. He proposed it. He threatened to veto [any bill] getting rid of it,” said a statement from the National Republican Conference Committee.
Yet the Barky administration was out there baying today, trying to twist things around to portray his decisions to fund his pet projects as somehow the fault of Republicans:
“70,000 young children would be kicked off Head Start, 10,000 teacher jobs would be put at risk, and funding for up to 7,200 special education teachers, aides, and staff could be cut,” said the White House statement.
True enough. But only because Barky himself opted to dump money into failed "green" projects and to ship billions of dollars overseas rather than to cut back on those and retain funding For The Children™.
