Hard as it may be to believe, SoloPower is on the ropes. Why, it seems like only yesterday that former Portland mayor Sammy Adams was preening over his great coup: the "solar panel manufacturer" that used to be located next door to Solyndra when they were both located in California wanted to move to Wilsonville, but headed for Portland after the locals refused to give them incentives. Portland's Sammy was right there, waving a $40 million check, welcoming them with open arms and a kiss on both cheeks, and yammering on about how this really cemented Portland's stature as a "green and sustainable" city.
All in all, SoloPower got millions from Portland, the state, and the feds. And as usual, we got the bag.
