Tax returns this year are coming in at a rate well below normal, and the IRS seems surprised. It's unclear why that would be the case:
When you're thinking you're going to have to pony up between $750 to $3,000 or more to meet Barry's "Shared Responsibility Payment" because you couldn't afford His disastrous Healthcare mandate in 2016, you tend to put that off.
That's why I'm not filing just yet - despite having jumped through all of their hoops over at the fed level, and despite paying tens of thousands of dollars in mandatory insurance premiums, out-of-pocket, co-pays, etc., we still end up owing nearly $3000 more. While that's better than getting a refund, which is nothing more than an interest-free loan to the feds, it's still considerably more than I'd anticipated - and it's all because of Obamacare.
I prefer owing a small amount, but 3 grand's a bit steep. I wish the Republicans would just dump that turkey, but good heavens, they can't do that because some leftists would go rabid. Frankly, I preferred what we had before.
