It seems to have been raining heavily again, and so a number of main roads on Portland's west side are out of commission due to landslides.
This is our heavily traveled West Burnside Street this morning. It won't be heavily traveled for quite some time, as the slide's 1500 feet long and as much as 80 feet wide. Depth is hard to discern due to all of the trees.
Same sort of scene all around the northwest hills here in Portland this morning. For those trying to get to or through downtown, rots-o-ruck; all of the usual routes are shut down because of this sort of thing, and since Oregon doesn't believe in freeway expansion, highways 26 and 217 are jammed to the gills.
Over here in the southwest area, things are just fine. Oh, there's a downed tree down the hill from us that took out some power lines, but it doesn't seem to be a huge issue, unlike what's happening on the northwest side. Evidently our mountains differ from theirs in terms of composition.
