Got a bill today for $1500 for a month of Obamacare-required health "insurance" premium - well more than the mortgage payment. Spent 2.5 hours on the phone, mostly with "hold" music.
Sister-in-law needed cataract surgery. She got that on one eye. She pays a mortgage payment each month for health "insurance", but the procedure cost $5000, which is, remarkably, $2000 less than than her deductible, which meant that she had to pay for the whole cost. Yep, Obamacare is a wonderful thing.
That's why I opted out last month - yet still got a $1500 bill this month. After considerable time, the "insurer" agreed that an error had occurred, so I don't owe them squat - but it took over two hours out of my life to get that little issue addressed. They also agreed to forward a refund on overpayments already made. In the future, I plan to record calls and require a stipulation that the company will need to reimburse me for the time.
Obamacare is a wonderful thing. They had to pass it so that you could find out what was in it.
