According to the AFP release obtained today, opponents of three citizen-filed initiatives have formed an unregistered PAC to finance a campaign against the initiatives, and worse yet, Damascus City Council President Jim Wright was kind of noticed as he handed out flyers opposing the measures - with the City's return address listed as the place to contact. The ethics of the situation are questionable enough, but use of public resources in electioneering also happens to be illegal. A number of other allegations against Wright are involved as well, but it appears that AFP has filed election law complaints on the basis of the incidents cited above.
Frankly, AFP - Oregon State Director Jeff Kropf ought to know better. The former Oregon state legislator and QUIK talk-show host can't really expect Oregon Secretary of State BillyBoy Bradbury to waste his time on mundane things like election law investigations when there's an entire planet to save from global worming.
