The loony tax law prof has "banned" an editor for the Blog News Network (BlogNetNews.com/oregon/). FogBanski has truly gone around the bend. It'd be amusing to watch, were it not so pathetic.
The childish little boy made a big deal recently of "outing" another blogger who dared to suggest that the perfesser was using college systems to work on his blog. As it happens, the suggestion was entirely accurate: a friend recently went to the minor effort of collecting irrefutable proof that The Loon does, in fact, use his employer's systems for such purposes.
The Loon "bans" folks who disagree with his rather twisted views (although "banning", much like "anonymity" is not possible on the Internet that his good friend AlGore helped to invent). My friend has been "banned" repeatedly, but shows up every few days to leave a comment, just to tick the guy off. He claims - and I believe - that circumventing The Loon's "ban" is really easy.
In any case:
What is most amusing is the fact that The Loon has now resorted to "banning" folks who once defended him, as is the case in the matter of the aforementioned editor.
The pathetic part is that the guy used to hold a degree of respect - not only among Pacific Northwest bloggers in general, but also in Portland City Hall, Multnomah County, and Metro. Today, many in all those areas recognize that he's fallen victim to an inflated sense of self-importance.
That's a bad thing for anybody, but especially bad in a blog environment. When folks are saying things like: I think I’ll skip his blog in the future, what they're really saying is that the blogger has nothing to offer.
Poor ol' BoyJack, he cain't hep it; he was born with a silver foot in his mouth.
