As mentioned previously, things are starting to look up for the US economy, and for reasons totally unrelated to any Big Government moves. MarketWatch has been tracking indicators, and among other things, they note that retail sales rose last month - for the first time since June 2008. Pending and actual sales of homes also began to bounce back.
Yet despite the empirical data, what have you been hearing for the last month? It's been a constant mantra of "crisis" and "catastrophy" - in one speech, President Obama used the term, "crisis" more than two dozen times.
What ever happened to "hope'n'change"? It sure sounds like the same old fear and loathing.
