U.S. EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson today defended the science underpinning pending climate regulations despite Senate Republicans' claims that global warming data has been thrown into doubt.
"The science behind climate change is settled, and human activity is responsible for global warming," Jackson told the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee. "That conclusion is not a partisan one."
Does Lisa want a cracker? After all, she's just parroting AlGore. It's disturbing that high-ranking bureaucrats don't seem to understand that the science is not leaning toward their propagandistic perspective.
This is one of many reasons why I advocate shutting down all federal bureaus. For one thing, we can't afford them. As well, they are generally counterproductive. Unless they can be demonstrated to uphold our rights and freedom, they should be abolished. The function of our system of government involves a covenant to guarantee our freedom and our rights.
There is no form which you sign that permits government to revoke these, and replace them with bureaucratic rules. I suspect that this is why loosely-affiliated groups have come together in the form of the "Tea Party" movements. These are people who want to see America move back to its roots. Small wonder that Leftists heap ridicule upon them. That's their job.
Mine is much easier, as I don't have to find ways to ridicule the Left - they do it on their own every day. Unlike them, most Americans have come to understand that we're increasingly over-governed.
