Joltin' Joe never gets much credit - other than for gaffes. For the most part, it's always seemed as though he's the closest thing Obama could find as a Billy Ray Carter stand-in.
Yet one writer suggests that credit for the bin Laden takedown largely devolves to none other than Joe Biden, whom he notes has for a decade advocated strongly for a surgical strike approach rather than the Big Military option. Clearly, the Big Military approach hasn't been effective; the mall-team op was.
It may well be more effective, long-term, to beef up America's HUMINT investment, which has long been neglected.
