SB 536, the "Ban the Bag" bill, has been very properly languishing in the Senate Rules Committee for nearly a month, and by rights it should die there. But no: Rep. Vic Gilliam, allegedly a Republican, is apparently determined to resurrect the bill, and has filed some amendments in a bid to prod it along.
Naturally, Beaverton Democrat Mark Hass, who spearheaded this idiocy in the first place, said he is very supportive of Gilliam’s amendments. Oh, how wonderfully bi-partisan! Goodness, at any moment the duckies and the bunnies will hold hands and dance around the Maypole to the tune of "Everything Is Beautiful".
