Anybody wanna dance? No? Dang.
And America's Nobel Peace Prize prez was all set to demonstrate his leadership. Of course, since he's involved, you can expect things to sour - ever since his great America Apologizes tour, nobody's had any respect for the Bumbler in Chief (hope I didn't upset any Indians, there, using the c-word and all).
Well, unsurprisingly, the U.N. won't play, and neither will NATO. France is prepared to cut off all shipments of brie and champaign, but that's about it. The Italians are all "thanks, but no", and the Brits just told him to take that whole special relationship thing and shove it. 'Course, he's not bothered with Congress on account of they won't ever do the common-sense things he wants, but he and Crazy Joe kinda dug themselves a hole on this concept, back in the day:
[T]hen-candidate Obama in 2008 [said], “The President does not have power under the Constitution to unilaterally authorize a military attack in a situation that does not involve stopping an actual or imminent threat to the nation.”
Vice President Joe Biden was even more explicit in December 2007, calling such a violation by any administration impeachable: “I want to make it clear and I made it clear to the president, if he takes this nation to war in Iran, without congressional approval — I will make it my business to impeach him.”
As the Trooper used to say in the old Weinhard commercials to the guys tring to haul a truckload of Schludwiller beer into the state: "Well now. Where you boys goin' with all that beer?" In OBumbler's case, they're asking him the same question about all them ships. Wonder where Crazy Joe stands on impeachment today....
H/T to Dougm over at KISP - love some of his 'shops.
