Well, it's been a delightful time here, as we won't need to run sprinklers for some time. On the other hand, there were the gutters, plugged with leaves from the heavy winds. Bummer, that. Up onto the ladder in the wind and (blessedly light at the time) rain. Yes, there are few things that warm your heart so much as clearing downspouts at a time when you really shouldn't have to. But you can't have them just overflowing and dumping water, so up you go.
Ah! Invigorating! Makes you feel alive...and wondering what the hell you're doing up there, as sure enough, the rain quadruples about the time you hit the second story. Now, you're in a downpour, which is kind of like a cow peeing on a flat rock, only a lot colder. And there's the wind. 40 miles an hour, I believe they said.
Welp, since you're up there, you might as well try to hang on and ignore it all. I was able to catch a gutter and the ladder on the way back down, which happened at rather high speed. Still got it!
At least the water's going where it's supposed to go, again.
