A liquefied natural gas storage facility in Massachusetts.
So much so that their commissioners voted unanimously Wednesday night to reject a liquified natural gas terminal and pipeline. Because they don't need any stinkin' construction jobs, terminal operations jobs, or tax revenue.
Opponents packed the place and applauded the decision to reject the application, which had previously been approved by the former commission.
Commissioners considered the untested consequences of a “frac-out,” the resulting failure of the drill sending fluid or drilling mud into a watershed, and saw it as hazardous and out of compliance with county land-use goals.
Because they're very familiar with fracking and other drilling processes, and have seen the damage that it causes when things go wrong - not that there's ever been a problem, but hey, they've seen the movie, "Gasland", so they know. And they doubtless contacted folks around the facility pictured above, too (is that water in the foreground?).
Apparently, the commissioners have discovered a higher and better use for Skipanon Peninsula.
