Former Multnomah County Chairman and purported political rising star, Jeff Cogen is on the hot seat yet again. Jeffy, who had little choice but to resign his job despite struggling mightily to keep feeding at the public trough following revelations that he'd been boinking a subordinate for two years (both he and she were married) is still under investigation by the state DoJ. And while he claimed to welcome their poking around, because it would clear the air and all, the Democrat transplant from Miami suddenly ain't talking.
That might be because the investigation has expanded from the question of whether or not he violated law in boinking his underling; now, they're looking into his use of illegal drugs. Apparently, this revelation has resulted in Jeffy somehow misplacing his tongue, so he's understandably gone dead silent.
No word on any involvement in rock'n'roll, and no word as to how his marriage is holding up. On the other hand, this is at least the second time the boy's been caught with his pants down, so his wife ought to be pretty used to it all by now.
No mention of the drugs investigative component in any local broadcast media, as yet, nor any that can be found within The Oregonian. Of course, omission by the latter is unsurprising, given their long and storied history of covering up for local politicians.
Oh, and DoJ isn't talking, either; the investigation is ongoing and all. Apparently, some of the folks in MultCo government that they have talked with didn't get the memo. Or more likely, don't care. Jeffy's not exactly well-loved over there.
