Fine - let them pay for it. Out of their own pockets. It's easy to dream big when you're tossing around other peoples' money.
Metro's been telling us for years that we're going to see a million more residents in the Porkland area by 2025, though lately they've been claiming 2040. It's not going to happen - particularly since they seem to have a perverse fixation on driving businesses out of the area. 587,865 was the population as of last year. Portland has been here since the early 1800s.
Apparently, the brain-trust at Metro can't manage math.
And take a gander at the image above. There are half a dozen or more cars in that light rail train. In Porkland, light rail "trains" can't be more than two cars long, which is why it'll never be more than a hugely expensive toy.
