When budget woes reduced the sheriff's department in one rural Oregon county to a bare-bones force, residents decided to take matters into their own hands -- creating armed patrol groups in defiance of local officials.
Oooh, it's really scary. They had the audacity to refuse to vote a tax increase into effect. And so the County took a page from the Obama playbook: make it hurt. And the citizens struck back.
Really? This is an issue? We're tired of ever-increasing government demands and taxation. The Revolutionary War occurred over far more inconsequential tax demands from the Monarchy.
These days, the term, "government services" has become an oxymoron.
