In Amsterdam, they've installed so-called UriLifts around the central part of town. These are "pop-up" toilets which are planted in the substrate - and which, like vampires, emerge from their holes at night. Portlanders can be thankful that Fireman Randy never got ahold of that idea!
But, much as with Randy's diversion of funds to build and install "Portland Loos" around town, the idea is to dissuade people from peeing in the street - which apparently is only a problem at night in Amsterdam, so they built the things with a program: they arise at night, then sink back into the ground during the day. And thus, it should come as no surprise that the inevitable did indeed occur, as one of the pissoirs rose up "unexpectedly" in front of a guy riding a moped; flinging the moped and rider into the air before landing on a nearby pedestrian.
Two injured, one moped trashed. Oh yeah - the toilet sustained damage as well. Hard as it may be to believe, somebody thought these were a great idea. Apparently, their government isn't significantly different from ours.
