A tow truck driver was cruising down the road in Abilene, Texas when his windshield shattered and something heavy hit his lap. It took him a moment to identify the object:
"By the time I got stopped, I realized it was a big ol' turkey," he said, "and then kind of started thinking about it being Thanksgiving, and it was kind of ironic."
He pulled off onto a service road next to some small homes, with a 30-pound dead turkey in his lap and no windshield. A family came out to check on him; he was fine, unlike the turkey, so he asked if they could use it. Reportedly, they were thrilled, and took it indoors for a nice Thanksgiving feast. Better yet, it didn't need to be tenderized.
