The guy who's been held in Washington County's Graybar Hotel has been released. After 905 days there.
Vasquez-Hernandez denied knowing anything about his son's involvement in Maria Bolanos-Rivera's disappearance in the summer of 2012. Prosecutors confronted him with earlier inconsistent statements, which he denied making.
There's a surprise; the guy probably doesn't remember what he had for breakfast. His own attorney observed that he has the intellectual capacity of a carrot. Yet Washington County taxpayers paid thousands of dollars to keep him in jail. So after nearly three years in jail, having himself committed no crime, he gets on the stand and pulls a Sgt. Schultz routine.
It's not a surprise at all, and Circuit Judge Don Letourneau should be ashamed.
