Last week, a new Uber-style app took off that promised users out walking their dogs that with the push of a button, someone would be dispatched to pick up the dog-poop.
In a society where you can order dinner, get a ride, rent out a room in your home, find a parking space, and hire someone to walk your dog — all with the click of a button — I suppose it was only a matter of time before we found ways to utilize the sharing economy for even the most menial of life's tasks.
Tens of thousands of people visited the Pooper website within a week.
And in a rather unfortunate reflection of the times, 70% of the people who signed up for their email list expressed an interest in becoming a pooper-scooper themselves.
The project, of course, was nothing more than that: it was intended to see where - if anywhere - the silly app-line gets crossed. Apparently, there is no such line.
