Leftists everywhere are up in arms over Trump's temporary exclusion of people from seven countries known to harbor terrorists - as an example of the insanity, "protesters" at the PDX airport yesterday raised a banner stating that "Portland Coffee Comes From Yemen!". Coincidentally, three senior al-Qaeda guys were among the 16 killed yesterday during a Special Operations raid on their headquarters in Yemen.
As observed previously, it seems rather sketchy that dozens to hundreds of people are magically showing up at airports around the country, armed with signs that are identical from airport to airport and shouting the same lines:
"No ban, no wall, sanctuary for all!" and "No hate, no fear, immigrants are welcome here!"
How curious that it all just magically happens, and is characterized in the media as some sort of a "grass roots" thing when it's plainly evident that the "demonstrations" are choreographed. And as might be expected here in laid-back Portland their "protest" at PDX to show their welcoming of immigrants, refugees, and terrorists had a predictable result when somebody disagreed with them:
Inside the terminal, witnesses say one counter-protester was punched in the face. Wearing riot gear, Port or Portland Police immediately surrounded that man and eventually carried him out of the terminal for a head injury. He was taken to a local hospital. Port of Portland is investigating the assault.
"No hate, no fear" indeed.
Interestingly, nobody seemed to have a problem when Jimmuh Cahtah imposed an admissions ban. Nor:
As millions of people became refugees during World War II, US President Franklin D Roosevelt argued that refugees posed a serious threat to the country's national security.
Hm. "A serious threat to national security". That sounds sort of familiar, somehow. But then, the guy who's implemented the same policy, for the same reason, isn't a Democratic. So that makes it all different. Why, in New York City, people are so angry that they're deleting their Uber apps!
Hundreds of Uber users have taken screenshots of themselves deleting the ride-hailing app, accusing it of profiting as New York taxi drivers held a strike against President Donald Trump's ban on Muslim travellers and refugees.
You've got to be a really outraged Snowflake to bravely delete an app from your phone! Yes, it turned out that the taxi drivers refused to pick up passengers between 6 and 7 p.m. - which was the length of their "strike". By contrast, Uber continued to operate during that hour, so you can see why the snowflakes are all outraged. All the more so, as none of them have ever been taught history or civics in school.
Meanwhile, last night in Quebec City, in an event that will assuredly be blamed on Bush or Trump (if not both), a couple of guys somehow evaded Canada's common-sense gun control laws and shot up a mosque, killing at least six and injuring many more, some critically. The perpetrators are in jail and awaiting arraignment, and while the procedure there is not to release the names at this juncture, police did note that one of the guys is French-Canadian while the other came from Morocco. If they've uncovered a motive, the cops aren't releasing it.
Naturally, this presented politicians with wonderful opportunities to give speeches.
French President Francois Hollande condemned the attack.
"The terrorists wanted to attack the spirit of peace and tolerance of the citizens of Quebec," Hollande said in a statement on Monday. "France stands shoulder to shoulder with the victims and their families".
Like France, Quebec has struggled at times to reconcile its secular identity with a rising Muslim population, many of them from North Africa.
It's good to know that the French are standing shoulder to shoulder, isn't it? And the Canadian president got a few licks in as well. Unlike our dearly departed former president, who was unable to utter the word, "terrorism", the French and Canadian presidents wasted no time.
