We had a total eclipse here in the 70s. I was in the Columbia River Gorge, east of The Dalles, when it hit. And I mean hit. That wall of dark came rushing up the Gorge at 17,000 miles an hour, and it felt like somebody hit me - and I was alone at the time. Pretty amazing. So I can see why this one's a big deal for a lot of folks.
Everybody and their dogs seem to be expecting thousands, if not millions, to check this one out.

It hits Oregon first, about half an hour from our place. So it'll be the second one in my entire lifetime. The difference, I guess, is that this one traverses the entire continental USA.
