I guess it was too crowded. But from Cabo to Cancun, some 35,000 hotel reservations have been cancelled so far this year, and insurance companies aren't willing to sell policies to tourists planning to visit the former tourism mecca. Mexico's rather concerned:
Mexico gets about $20 billion a year from tourism. With murders quadrupling in Los Cabos and doubling in Cancun this year, a chunk of that revenue may be at stake. Quintana Roo, the state where Cancun is located, is the destination of a third of all the nation's international tourists.
You know, people today are such pansies. Okay, a little while ago, a cooler containing two human heads was found on the main hotel strip in Cabo. So what? After all, why do you go there if not to sample the local culture?
