And their Senator Kamala Harris wants you to pay for it.
Rents in California have skyrocketed over the past decade, thanks to the innumerable restrictions, taxes, and fees that the state imposes on new housing development. Now Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) wants the rest of the country to pay to fix this problem.
Um, how about "no"? They created the issue, so let them fix it themselves. Besides, don't they want to secede from the USA?
They keep bragging that they have one of the top economies in the world, and claim that "red states" are freeloaders. Well, if their economy's so good, why do they keep reaching for other people's wallets? So why should I subsidize California renters?
The first lesson of economics is scarcity: there is never enough of anything to fully satisfy all those who want it. The first lesson of politics is to disregard the first lesson of economics.
