Militarized Federal Agents from a patchwork of outside agencies have begun policing Portland (in rented minivans vans) without the explicit approval of the mayor, the state, or local municipalities.
At present, there have been no explanations nor announcement of charges filed, to the best of my knowledge. I suspect that it is related to the month and a half of nightly rioting in Portland, which have resulted in millions of dollars in damages to storefronts and federal buildings. It looks like a third-world country down there.
In any case, these actions are unlikely to win the feds much support in whacked-out Portland.
