EMMETT, Idaho — On Friday night, the 4A high school football game between the Emmett Huskies and Caldwell Cougars was canceled at halftime after Ammon Bundy refused to wear a mask or leave school grounds. Caldwell Police told KTVB that Bundy, an Emmett native, went to the game at Caldwell High School and was told he needed to wear a mask before entering the stands. Bundy refused to wear one and stepped over to the chain-link fence around the field to watch the game.
Officers refused to arrest Bundy, saying he "wasn't out of control and didn't appear to be a threat to anybody." Police say officers told school officials that they wouldn't physically remove Bundy from the property and that they would file a report and pass it along to the Canyon County Prosecutor.
School officials then decided to cancel the game at halftime because Bundy refused officials' and police requests to leave the property. The Huskies led the Cougars 35-0 at the half.
Those Bundy fellas are always finding ways to stir things up. At least they're not back in Oregon again....
Anti-government extremist Ammon Bundy led a meeting last week where he agitated for Idahoans to physically defy the state’s stay-at-home order, which is meant to slow the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. Bundy is perhaps best known for leading the armed, 10-day occupation of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge in Oregon in 2016. But these days he’s threatening to rise up against the public health measures to ward off COVID-19.
More rabble-rousing. Ideally, he'll stay in Idaho this time.
This guy is why you'll never see me riding "mass transit" in Portland, Oregon (unless I'm carrying a pistol).
The man who fatally stabbed two men who confronted him in 2017 during a racist rant on a Portland, Oregon, light-rail train was found guilty Friday on all 12 counts.
Jeremy Christian is guilty of two first-degree murder counts, three counts of second-degree intimidation, first-degree assault, second-degree assault and first-degree attempted murder.Jurors were unanimous on all verdicts.
Actually, the moron tried to kill three men who interfered with his rant, which was directed at two young black girls who were just minding their own business on the light rail car. He killed two guys on the spot, and severely injured the third. The girls, fortunately, were not physically harmed.
He went for an insanity defense during the trial, but nobody was buying it. Ideally, he'll be doing a (short) life term in prison.
A bill to ban abortion introduced in the Ohio state legislature requires doctors to “reimplant an ectopic pregnancy” into a woman’s uterus – a procedure that does not exist in medical science – or face charges of “abortion murder”. Ohio’s move on ectopic pregnancies – where an embryo implants on the mother’s fallopian tube rather than her uterus rendering the pregnancy unviable – is one of the most extreme bills to date.
In addition to ordering doctors to do the impossible or face criminal charges, House Bill 413 bans abortion outright and defines a fertilized egg as an “unborn child”.
While not in favor of "abortion on demand", this seems a bit over the top.
It's not as though birth control options are unavailable in the USA. Even in Ohio.
The failed Alabama Senate candidate and accused child molester asked his few remaining supporters Thursday to lend him a financial hand because his "resources have been depleted."
He blames "anti-Christian," "ultra-liberal" left-wingers for his financial despair.
The Charlottesville terrorist, it appears, has a history of violence, his wheelchair-bound mother having called 911 on multiple occasions following his repeated assaults.
And you know things are pretty screwy when the Germans are denouncing the "repulsive, naked racism" on display last weekend in Virginia. They are, however, aware of no connection between the American neo-nazi idiots and their own German flavor.
As Dr. Carol Swain observed as far back as 2002, there is a difference between white nationalism and white supremacists. As she notes - and she's black, herself - the former are simply sick and tired of being browbeaten and guilt-tripped with stuff like "white privilege"; the latter are solid racists who actually believe that whites are inherently superior to all other people.
Dr. Swain underscored that white nationalism is different from the racist white supremacy movement, even though the left-wing media and liberals purposely conflate the two. “I distinguish it from white supremacy because the people who were involved [in the white nationalism movement] were more intellectual,” said Swain, a graduate of Yale Law School. “They were not espousing racial violence or using epithets, but they had grievances. They felt that white people’s rights were being trampled on and no one was speaking up or listening to their grievances.”
Swain said the white nationalism movement took off — long before Trump took office — because whites were being marginalized and disenfranchised after decades of affirmative action and other government programs designed to benefit minorities.
Today's white nationalists, in short, took the words of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. to heart when he spoke of his dream of a day when people would be judged not by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.
Yet in the ensuing decades, everything seems to be about skin color. Universities regularly reject highly qualified white applicants in favor of less qualified minority students because they want to maintain certain ratios in their portfolio. At Washington state's Evergreen College just recently, all hell broke loose after "minority students" demanded a "white-free day" - a day on which no white people would be allowed on campus. Surprisingly, a lot of white folks didn't go along.
Naturally, some riots occurred. The college shut down completely for several days.
The rise of white nationalism came about as a direct result of this sort of idiocy. The wns aren't racist, and they're not white supremacists. But increasingly, they are demanding. And what they're demanding is equal treatment, an end to the continual denigration, and a modicum of respect.
It'd be nice if we could just save everyone the time and money, and just shoot the butthole. But do it right, this time.
A defiant Jeremy Christian appeared in court Tuesday afternoon spouting invective during a short arraignment hearing.
"Free speech or die, Portland: Get out if you don't like free speech," said Christian, who's charged with seven crimes, including aggravated murder for the deaths of two men Friday night in Northeast Portland.
He was reportedly shot while trying to escape arrest after the Friday stabbings.
He's been shot twice, but unfortunately neither time was effective in eliminating this self-described "patriot". It's not that I hate him; it's just that he's a waste of oxygen and there's really no need for his continued existence.
Kennedy, a former paramedic, was there on the train, one car away. He sprung into action and started helpingRick Best, one of the two victims who ultimately passed away.
"I realized that he wasn't breathing anymore and we were checking for a pulse and couldn't feel one. I started doing chest compressions on him," Kennedy said.
Kennedy said it was unlike anything he'd seen in his life.
"I've seen people getting killed before, I've seen car wrecks. I've seen all that. I have never seen or been prepared for two men getting knifed down in an attack," he said.
He tried; it just wasn't enough. But when Best died, he didn't die alone. Sometimes that's all you can do for another person.
The face of evil: The two guys he killed:
And one of the two teenaged girls the perp went off on: She's traumatized. Her mother did most of the talking, thanking the families of the guys who intervened: "I want to say thank you so much," she said. "I couldn't imagine what you're going through right now as far as losing someone."
Jeremy Christian, the suspect in the stabbings that killed two people and injured another Friday on a MAX train, was involved in a separate altercation with a woman at a TriMet station the day before the attack.
He should be given a fair trial, following his arraignment later today, and then fairly but thoroughly hanged.
Unfortunately, Oregon's governor from Minnesota opposes the death penalty, and so she refuses to enforce that law because she disagrees with it.
